Rangers Offer Arbitration to Bradley

Free-agent outfielder Milton Bradley was offered salary arbitration late Monday night by the Texas Rangers.

Bradley was a first-time All-Star this season, when he hit .321 with 22 home runs and 77 RBIs -- all career highs -- in 126 games. He led the American League with a .436 on-base percentage, a Rangers record.

Texas didn't offer arbitration to third baseman Ramon Vazquez or right-handers Jason Jennings and Jamey Wright.

Bradley, who signed a $5 million, one-year deal with Texas last offseason, is seeking a multiyear deal. The Rangers would like to have Bradley back but told him to explore the free agent market.

Bradley entered last season recovering from knee surgery, and was bothered by other nagging injuries throughout the season. He played primarily as a designated hitter, appearing in the outfield only 20 games.

If Bradley declines arbitration and signs with another team, the Rangers would receive a supplemental draft pick next June. He has until Sunday to accept or decline arbitration.
