Cliff Lee Pulled in Fifth Inning

The World Series is officially underway between the Texas Rangers and the San Francisco Giants and what a pitching match-up it is. Cliff Lee for the Texas Rangers and Tim "The Freak" Lincecum. Lee pitched for the Philadelphia Philles last year in the World Series so he is no stranger to the pressure.

The Rangers were  first on the board, a base hit put Elvis Andrus on first base and he was brought home with Vladimir Guerrero's base hit to right field putting the Rangers up by one run. Rangers Catcher Bengie Molina scores run number two in the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Elvis Andrus.

Giants on the board in the third after a line drive base hit by Freddy Sanchez allows Edgar Renteria to score. Rangers 2, Giants 1 in third.  The Giants tie the game also in the third with a line drive from Buster Posey which brings Andres Torres home.

The Giants take their first lead of the night in the bottom of the fifth after a line drive double by Freddy Sanchez brings Andres Torres home to score run number three. A line drive by Cody Ross allows Freddy Sanchez to also score in the fifth putting the Giants up by two runs.

Pat Burrell scores off Aubrey Huffs single run, Giants on top by three runs. Then something really rare happened, Rangers pitcher Cliff Lee, is pulled in the fifth inning and the Rangers bring in reliever Darren O'Day to take over on the mound.

But the embarrassment doesn't end there, a home-run by Juan Uribe allows the Giants to score runs six, seven and eight.

The Rangers were able to score a third run in the top of the sixth after Rangers Bengie Molina doubles on a line drive. Molina is brought home after a single by Josh Hamilton. That was enough for the Giants who made a pitching change after the Rangers scored two in the inning.
