Jim Jeffcoat's Son Heading to Oklahoma?

Possible tip revealed of where top recruit may go

OK, the key to the headline above is the question mark because I'm admittedly only speculating here, but it looks like the top defensive end recruit in the nation might have a reason to choose one of the many big-time football programs seeking his services.

Jackson Jeffcoat, the Plano West senior-to-be, is the son of former Dallas Cowboys sack-master Jim Jeffcoat, and twin brother of Jacqueline Jeffcoat, who just committed to the University of Oklahoma to play basketball for the Lady Sooners, according to The Dallas Morning News.

The Sooners happen to also have one of the top football programs in the land, so will Jackson be following in his sister's footsteps and going to play for Bob Stoops & Co.?

Jeffcoat had 94 tackles with 11 behind the line of scrimmage and seven sacks last year for the Wolves, who failed to make the playoffs in a tough district.

Jacqueline says she doesn't expect Jackson to follow her, but twins usually share a distinct bond that only twins share, so it wouldn't be too shocking should Jackson decide to go up to Norman with his sister. And it wouldn't be a bad move for Jeffcoat, obviously, as Oklahoma will surely be a top 3 team heading into the fall, and won't be expected to drop off much, if at all, in the coming years.

Jackson has other offers from Cal, Georgia, LSU, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Rutgers, USC, Stanford, Texas, Texas A&M and TCU.

Only time will tell, but I don't expect Jackson to commit before the season starts. I foresee his recruiting process as being one of those that goes well into his senior season.
