The Texas Department of Transportation will lease the Texas Stadium site for $15.4 million after the Dallas Cowboys' lease ends on Jan. 31.
Under an agreement with the city of Irving, the Cowboys will have until March 31 to remove property before the city takes over the facility.
TxDot will use the location as a construction/staging location for up to ten years.
TxDOT will be working on the Diamond Interchange reconstruction project of State Highway 114 and Loop 12.
During the term of the lease, the city has the right to relocate the construction staging area to accommodate a redevelopment opportunity.
