Parsons Showing Signs of Life For Mavs

Hey look, Chandler Parsons finally showed up for the Mavs. Yeah, it’s taken until early December. But better late than never.

Bolstered by admittedly weaker defenses and a deft new head-fake, Parsons is beginning to resemble the player the Mavs planned on when they signed him to a $46 million deal last summer.

In last night’s romp over the Bucks he had his most productive game in Dallas, scoring 28 points on 11-of-14 shooting including four 3-pointers.

“Law of averages,” Parsons said to reporters in the postgame locker room at American Airlines Center. “I’m going to shoot the ball at a certain percentage. I’m going to have games like tonight, and I'm going to have games where I struggle, but I've just got to find a way to find more consistency.”

Even with last night’s outburst that helped the Mavs improve to 16-6, Parsons’ stats — shooting percentage, 3-point percentage, points, assists and rebounds — are all down from last season in Houston.

A native Texan who was born in Duncanville and graduated from UT-Arlington, Richie Whitt has been a mainstay in the Metroplex media since 1986. He’s held prominent roles on all media platforms including newspaper (Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas Observer), radio (105.3 The Fan) and TV (co-host on TXA 21 and numerous guest appearances, including NBC 5). He currently lives in McKinney with his wife, Sybil, and two very spoiled dogs.
