Packers Will Go Green For Super Bowl XLV

As the home team for Super Bowl XLV, the Green Bay Packers will wear their preferred green jerseys

In deciding which jerseys to wear for Super Bowl XLV, the Green Bay Packers opted to go with tradition over superstition.

Despite having won three consecutive playoff games in their whites, the Packers have opted to wear green for Super Bowl XLV in Dallas. As the home team in this year’s game--the AFC and NFC alternate which representative will be the β€œhome” team--the Packers were given their choice of uniform.

Head coach Mike McCarthy said in a news conference on Monday, despite their current run, that traditional green, which they usually wear at home at Lambeau Field, was their preferred hue.

"We're excited about that,” McCarthy said, per the USA Today.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will wear their white jerseys, in which they defeated the Arizona Cardinals two years ago in Super Bowl XLIII.
