O'Sullivan Blast Leads Cats Past X's

Pat O'Sullivan hit a game-winning homer in the 10th inning Monday night as the Cats edged Sioux City 3-2 at LaGrave Field.

With the win, the Cats' record improved to 4-1 as they collected their first extra-inning victory of the season.

The Cats took a 1-0 lead in the third as Aljay Davis scored on an RBI single by Isa Garcia, who was 3-for-5 in the game. Sioux City tied the game in the fourth as Walter Young singled home Anthony Webster from second base.

Michael Bell gave the Cats another lead in the bottom of the fourth as he crushed his first home run of the season, a solo shot with two outs for a 2-1 Cats advantage.

The game stayed 2-1 until the eighth when Justin Tellum led off with a double. Pinch runner Dustin Jones then moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a Derek Schermerhorn sacrifice fly to tie the game 2-2.

In the 10th, the first two men were retired by Explorers' reliever Tyler Meigs before O'Sullivan hit the first pitch he saw on to the berm in left for his first home run of the season and a walk-off win.

Reliever Dustin Cameron, who worked a scoreless 10th inning, notched the win, his first in a Cats' uniform. Meigs (0-2) suffered the loss after giving up a run on four hits in four innings of relief work.
