NHL Last Night: Penguins Skate Past Flyers

PHILADELPHIASidney Crosby had two goals and two assists to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins to their first road victory in nearly six weeks, 5-4 over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

Crosby got a gift goal with 2:45 left when goalie Martin Biron failed to secure the puck when he drifted out to make a stop. Crosby was there when the puck came loose and poked it into the empty net for his 23rd goal and 23rd career two-goal game.

Mike Richards scored a short-handed goal for the third straight game and Braydon Coburn's third-period goal tied it at 3. Mike Knuble evened it at 4-4 and the largest regular-season crowd in Flyers history (19,992) erupted.

Evgeni Malkin scored his 27th goal, and Ruslan Fedotenko also scored two goals for the Penguins, who have now won two straight for new coach Dan Bylsma.

Joffrey Lupul also scored for the Flyers.

Canucks 3, Maple Leafs 2, SO

At Toronto, Mats Sundin scored the shootout winner in his return to the city where he spent 13 memorable years, lifting Vancouver past Toronto.

Sami Salo and Alex Burrows scored in regulation for the Canucks, and Jason Blake and Matt Stajan countered for Toronto.

Canadiens 5, Senators 3

At Montreal, Alex Kovalev had a goal and two assists against Ottawa in his return to Montreal's lineup after a two-game banishment because of his listless play.

Canadiens backup Jaroslav Halak made 44 saves.

Patrice Brisebois, Tomas Plekanec, Mathieu Schneider and Mathieu Dandenault also scored for the Canadiens, 3-for-4 on the power play. Dany Heatley scored twice for Ottawa, and Jarkko Ruutu added a goal.

Sharks 3, Thrashers 1

At San Jose, California, Jeremy Roenick picked up his 700th career assist in his return from a 10-week injury absence, and Ryane Clowe broke a scoreless tie 30 seconds into the third period as San Jose downed Atlanta.

Evgeni Nabokov made 22 saves for the Sharks, who set a franchise record with their NHL-best 26th home win. Jonathan Cheechoo and Joe Thornton scored in the third period.

Sabres 4, Rangers 2

At Buffalo, New York, Derek Roy had a goal and two assists, and Daniel Paille, Andrej Sekera and Jochen Hecht also scored to help Buffalo jump into a sixth-place tie with the reeling Rangers in the Eastern Conference.

Sabres goalie Ryan Miller left the game 2 minutes into the third period after being upended behind the net by New York's Scott Gomez.

Markus Naslund and Nigel Dawes scored for the Rangers, both goals coming against Sabres backup Patrick Lalime, who stopped 11 shots.

Wild 5, Red Wings 2

At St. Paul, Minnesota, Owen Nolan had two goals and an assist, and Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Martin Skoula and Stephane Veilleux also scored as Minnesota neat Detroit.

The Wild ended a three-game losing streak and scored at least four goals for the first time in eight games.

Tomas Kopecky and Ville Leino scored for Detroit.

Blackhawks 3, Stars 1

At Dallas, Patrick Kane scored his fourth goal against Dallas this season and Cristobal Huet made 30 saves as Chicago completed a season sweep.

Defensemen Matt Walker and James Wisniewski also scored for the Blackhawks, who outscored the Stars 20-8 in their four meetings this season.

Steve Ott scored for Dallas.

Flames 3, Oilers 2, SO

At Edmonton, Alberta, Todd Bertuzzi scored the only goal in the shootout, and Miikka Kiprusoff turned aside all three Edmonton shooters in Calgary's victory over the Oilers.

Jarome Iginla and Matthew Lombardi scored in regulation to help the Flames win for fourth time in their last five games.

Erik Cole and Ales Hemsky scored for Edmonton.

Islanders 4, Devils 0

At Uniondale, New York, Yann Danis made a career-high 40 saves in the New York Islanders' win over New Jersey for his first shutout in more than three years.

Scott Clemmensen stopped 34 shots, but allowed goals to Sean Bergenheim, Jon Sim, Kyle Okposo and Bill Guerin.

Coyotes 6, Kings 3

At Los Angeles, Olli Jokinen scored twice in the second period against his former team to reach 500 career points, then added an empty-netter to complete his sixth career hat trick in Phoenix's win over Los Angeles.

Viktor Tikhonov had a goal and an assist for the Coyotes, and defenseman David Hale and rookie Mikkel Boedker also scored.

Alexander Frolov, Dustin Brown and Derek Armstrong scored for Los Angeles.

Panthers 2, Bruins 0

At Sunrise, Florida, Radek Dvorak scored twice in the third period, and Tomas Vokoun made 41 saves for his second shutout in three games as Florida blanked Boston.

It was the sixth shutout of the season for Vokoun, who stopped 36 shots in Florida's 4-0 victory over New Jersey on Tuesday night, and the Panthers' NHL-high ninth shutout overall.

Predators 1, Blues 0, OT

At St. Louis, defenseman Shea Weber scored 2:36 into overtime, and Pekka Rinne made 30 saves for his fifth shutout of the season for Nashville.

Weber took a pass from J.P. Dumont and fired a shot from the slot that trickled over goalie Chris Mason's shoulder and into the net.

Ducks 5, Blue Jackets 2

At Columbus, Ohio, Corey Perry had a goal and two assists, Chris Pronger, Brendan Morrison, Chris Kunitz and Bobby Ryan also scored, and Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 26 saves to help Anaheim beat Columbus and end a three-game slide.

Rick Nash had a goal and an assist, and Kristian Huselius also scored for Columbus, which had picked up points in its previous seven games.
