Olympic gold medalist and North Texan Michelle Carter is hosting a summer camp just for girls.
Carter's "You Throw Girl" camp is for female athletes in all sports ranging from grades 6th through 12th.
Carter, who is the American record holder in women's shot put, said the camp will empower young ladies to thrive, live a healthy lifestyle and to have confidence not just in their athletic capabilities but also who they are as young ladies.
The camp is on Saturday, May 20 from, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Red Oak Middle School on Louise Ritter Drive in Red Oak.
General Admission (8 a.m.-noon):
Open for female athletes in grades 6-12 in all sports. This session will have various speakers and activities to inform and encourage our athletes to be great in every aspect of life ($45).
Throwing Guidance Session (1-4 p.m.):
This session is specifically for female athletes who throw the shot put and discus. Tips and guidance will be delivered through a group setting. LIMITED SPOTS ARE AVAILABLE. ($120 - includes General Admission and lunch).
Free Parents Boot Camp:
Parents we didn't forget about you. Your athlete works hard and you can too with a fun and exciting boot camp! Come and show your daughter where they get it from.
