Mavs To Be Tested Early in Preseason

The Mavs start bouncing basketballs in preseason games in only 36 days, so it won’t take long to find out how they compare to some of the league’s best.

In their seven-game schedule, Dallas will face both Eastern Conference finalists from 2015 along with the Western Conference finalist that knocked them out of the playoffs in last year’s first round.

Not only will the Mavs play the Rockets on Oct. 7, the Hawks on Oct. 16 and LeBron James and the Cavaliers on Oct. 19, they’ll also get a look at a familiar face in a new place.

That’s right, Tyson Chandler and his new team — the Suns — come to the American Airlines Center Oct. 21.

Not that anything gets settled — or even realistically previewed — but we’ll learning pretty quickly if the Mavs’ rebuilt roster can compete on any level with some of the NBA’s best.
