The Mavs landed their main course in Chandler Parsons. But they also might have found a surprisingly tasty appetizer in Eric Griffin.

After an impressive Summer League stint in which he averaged 11 points, three rebounds and three blocks per game and made countless highlight-reel, above-the-rim blocks and dunks. The Mavs signed him to a contract last Friday, hoping Griffin is one of those dark horse finds that can contribute to the team next season.

The 6 foot 8 inch Griffin has played in Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Italy and had a stint with the Miami Heat. Not unlike Shawn Marion, Griffin’s potential would see him playing the role of energized sub who grabs loose balls and finds the basket without having to have plays run for him.

If Griffin sticks, he’ll be the Mavs’ summer steal.
