Kidd Hurts Back Against Spurs

Mavs lose to Spurs 93-71

Dallas Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd sustained a lower back injury Thursday night in a game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Kidd appeared to pull up with 24.7 seconds left in the first quarter. Vince Carter replaced Kidd, who was not expected to return.

The veteran point guard is averaging 5.6 points, 4.7 assists and 4.0 rebounds this season for the defending NBA champions.

The Mavericks lost to the Spurs 93-71 in a game in which Dirk Nowitzki only scored 6 points.
