Hamilton Held Out of Tuesday's Game in Detroit

Rangers center fielder Josh Hamilton, who left Texas' last game with a sore right groin muscle, wasn't in the starting lineup Tuesday for the opener of the Rangers' road series at Detroit.

Hamilton, who led the AL in RBIs last season, left Sunday's game after slamming into the wall while making a catch. He and manager Ron Washington said they'll decide Wednesday when he'll return to the lineup.

"It's just sore," Hamilton said. "I'd like to play tomorrow, but we'll see."

Washington said the problem isn't related to the rib injury that kept Hamilton on the disabled list for 13 games this month.

The outfielder is hitting .241 with five homers and 19 RBIs for the AL West-leading Rangers.
