Gasol Scores 30, Grizzlies Beat Mavericks 114-105

Marc Gasol scored 30 points, Mike Conley added 22 and the Memphis Grizzlies withstood 18 Dallas 3-pointers to beat the Mavericks 114-105 on Tuesday night.

Gasol, who was limited to only two points in Sunday's win over Miami, was 9 of 14 from the field and 12 of 13 from the line as Memphis won its second straight. Zach Randolph finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Tony Allen scored 13 points.

Chandler Parsons led the Mavericks with 30 points, going 10 of 18 from the field and 6 of 10 from 3-point range. Jameer Nelson had a season-high 18 points, while J.J. Barea finished with a season-best 17, including 12 in the fourth quarter as Dallas tried to rally.

Jae Crowder finished with 13 for Dallas, but Dirk Nowitzki shot 4 of 17 and was held to 11.

Leading scorer Monta Ellis was limited to two points, missing 10 of his 11 shots, while dealing with a sore right elbow that had him listed him as questionable before the game.

The Mavericks were 18 of 40 from 3-point range, making five in the fourth quarter. Devin Harris' long-range jumper pulled Dallas within 101-99 with 4:35 left.

But Memphis closed the game on a 13-6 run.

The Grizzlies countered the Mavericks' 3-point shooting by outscoring Dallas 52-26 in the paint, and committing only five turnovers.

Nelson, who entered the game averaging 7.2 points, connected on his first four shots, including a trio from outside the arc for 13 early points, already matching his season high. Parsons was keeping pace, connecting on his first three from distance as the Mavericks missed only one of their first eight 3-pointers.

Memphis coach Dave Joerger said before the game he would try to get Gasol involved early, and the Grizzlies center was getting to the rim and the free throw line for 14 points in the opening stanza.

Things settled into a more ordinary pace in the second quarter, although Nelson already was at 18 points, and Parsons had 17 to help Dallas to a 62-56 lead at the half.

Gasol had 18 points to lead Memphis at the break.

Memphis started going to Randolph in the third and he had 13 points and nine rebounds in the period, helping Memphis carry a 92-79 lead into the fourth quarter.
