First Step In Mavs' Recovery: Parsons Undergoes Knee Surgery

So while Rajon Rondo refused to play with only an imaginary back injury, teammate Chandler Parsons tried to play with severely damaged knee.

There’s your Mavericks’ playoff tear-jerker.

Rondo, of course, will be long gone by 2015-16 training camp in October. But after undergoing surgery Friday to repair cartilage in his right knee, Parsons is expected to make it all the way back.

Parsons injured the knee late in the season, sat out a handful of games and attempted to return for Game 1 of the playoffs against the Rockets. But with no lift or explosion, he was mainly ineffective and, after more pain and swelling, missed the series’ final four games.

The Mavs have a lot of decisions and moves to make this offseason. But being assured of the return of a healthy Parsons is priority No. 1. Make Rondo’s departure 1a.
