FC Dallas Signs Defender Maynor Figueroa to New Contract

FC Dallas signs veteran defender Maynor Figueroa to a new one-year contract.

Figueroa, 34, spent the last two seasons with FC Dallas after being traded to Dallas from the Colorado Rapids in January 2016.

"The Honduran played 28 league matches for FC Dallas that year, helping the club claim its first Supporters Shield and second Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in franchise history. The defender improved his numbers in 2017, scoring three goals and adding an assist. FC Dallas had a record of 9-6-11 when Figueroa was in the starting 11," the team said.

The National Soccer Hall of Fame, which is being rebuilt in Frisco, will open Oct. 20, 2018 with an induction ceremony, a Hall of Fame game and a mega concert.

"The versatile defender started 16 matches at left back and 10 at center back for FC Dallas in 2017. Figueroa is a veteran of two World Cups and the 2012 Olympics Games with Honduras. He also spent eight seasons in the Premier League with Wigan Athletic (2008 – 2013) and Hull City (2013 – 2015).
