FC Dallas Drops Champions League Game to Pumas

Eduardo Aguirre and David Izazola scored in the final 10 minutes to help Pumas defeat FC Dallas 2-0 on Wednesday night in the fourth round of the Group C stage of the CONCACAF Champions League.

Carlos Orrantia assisted on both goals. Aguirre scored in the 84th minute when he took a cross from Orrantia and fired a shot into the left corner of the net from the top left corner of the goalie's box.

Izazola scored in the 91st minute with a right-footed shot from 6 yards away and into the left corner of the net.

FC Dallas and Pumas each have Group C records of 2-1-1 and are tied for first place.

The two goals scored by Pumas were the first scores FC Dallas have allowed in group play. In the first matchup between the two teams, FC Dallas won 1-0 in Mexico on August 17.

FC Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman finished with three saves to keep FC Dallas in the game.

Dallas only managed one shot on goal for the game. Hartman's best save came after he deflected a shot with his fingertips in the 62nd minute to prevent a goal by Orrantia.

Each team lost a player in the 40th minute after FC Dallas' Jackson Goncalves and Pumas' Luis Fuentes each received a red card for fighting. Fuentes head butted Jackson, who retaliated with an elbow. Both players will automatically miss the next round of group play.

Both teams have two games remaining in group play.
