Zach Lee has made his college decision, and though it's not a final one, the McKinney senior-to-be has orally committed to LSU and head coach Les Miles, according to The Dallas Morning News.
The first day a Class of 2010 recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 3.
Lee will be a year behind the state's top QB recruit from the 2009 class in Cy-Ridge QB Russell Shepard, as the two will be battling for what appears to be a pretty wide-open spot as incoming sophomore Jarrett Lee, a Brownwood graduate, struggled mightily last season.
Zach Lee did anything but struggle as a junior for McKinney last season, as he catapulted up the quarterback rankings, entering the season as the ninth-ranked pro-style QB in country, according to Rivals.com.
Lee lit up opposing secondaries with 2,935 passing yards and 261 rushing yards while combining for 44 touchdowns (33 passing, 11 rushing) and just 10 interceptions.
He had standing offers from many big-time programs: LSU, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Arizona, Alabama and Arizona State.
