Former Home of Cowboys Star Deion Sanders Goes Up for Auction

Chateau Montclair, the former home of former Dallas Cowboys player Deion Sanders, is up for auction Thursday. The 29,000-square-foot Prosper home, which boasts nine bedrooms, 10.5 baths and a master closet larger than most North Texas homes (3,000-square-feet), has no reserve price and will go to the highest bidder. The former Prosper home of NFL Hall of Famer and Dallas Cowboy Deion Sanders is back on the market after being pulled from an auction shortly before bidding was to begin.

According to Concierge Auctions, the opulent 29,000-square-foot mansion dubbed "Chateau Montclair" drew hundreds of prospects and showings were granted to nearly two dozen qualified bidders. Still, the sellers elected to withdraw the property before bidding began and return the home to the open market.

The home is now listed for $14.5 million by Ebby Halliday Realtors. If you're in the market, after putting down 20 percent, or $2.9 million, your 30-year mortgage would cost you about $54,000 per month.

Ahead of last week's auction, the mansion was opened for potential, qualified buyers to tour.

"I think they're in awe of the grandeur," said Jodi Fillmore, the project manager for Concierge Auctions, the New York City-based auction house, which deals in high-end properties around the world. "It's unconscionable to imagine occupying a space like this."
