Davis, Colombo Team Up For Burgers

The offensive linemen will partner to bring Smashburger restaurants to Dallas

Strong interpersonal relationships shouldn't be a problem for the Dallas Cowboys in 2009; at least, not on the right side of the offensive line.

Leonard Davis and Marc Colombo, who enjoy thrashing together as one half of the metal enterprise Free Reign, will soon take their relationship to yet another arena, as they go into business together.

Davis' Dallas-based business group, BIGG Capital Holdings LLC, recently came to an agreement with Smashburger, a Denver-based fast food chain, to oversee 30 Smashburger locations to be built in the Dallas area.

Tackle (and lead singer/guitarist of Free Reign) Marc Colombo threw his hat in the ring this week, with his venture group DC Rightside LLC agreeing to invest and participate in five of 30 locations.

Smashburger, which got its name from the process of "smashing" meat on the grill, already has locations in Houston, San Antonio, among other cities in East and West Texas.

“When Leonard told me about his arrangement with Smashburger, I knew I wanted to get involved,” Colombo said in a press release on Wednesday.

“Because we’ve worked side-by-side on game day every week during the season, I know we will be a great team in making Smashburger a huge success in the Dallas area. Smashburger’s excellent food, setting and value will make it Dallas’ favorite burger place for every occasion.”
