Cowboys Set NFL Record for Attendance

Largest crowd sees Cowboys lose to Giants

    Dallas Cowboys fans turned out in record numbers for the regular season opener in their new stadium.

    The Cowboys announced the team distributed 105,121 tickets making Sunday night's game the largest to witness a regular season game in NFL history.

    The crowd included up to 30,000 fans in standing-room party plazas at either end of the stadium. The stadium has about 75,000 seats.

    The Giants defeated Dallas on a last-second field goal, 33-31.

     The previous attendance record for an NFL regular season game was 103,467. The crowd present for the San Francisco vs. Arizona Cardinals game played at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico on October 2, 2005.
