Cowboys Re-Sign Defensive End Bowen

Miles Austin, Sam Hurd only unsigned free agents on roster.

The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed defensive end Stephen Bowen for the upcoming season, leaving two restricted free agents without contracts.

Bowen, who has played in 34 games over three seasons, signed a one-year, $1.54 million deal Monday similar to what offensive lineman Cory Procter received last week.

Bowen posted a career-high 28 tackles last season, with two tackles for loss and nine quarterback pressures. He joined the club as an undrafted free agent in 2006, making the practice squad before moving up to the active roster that November.

Receivers Miles Austin and Sam Hurd, both of whom are expected to help replace Terrell Owens, are the remaining unsigned free agents. The team would get at least a second-round draft pick as compensation if they sign with another team.
