After landing at Naval Air Station Point Mugu in Southern California, the Dallas Cowboys met with service members and their families for an autograph, meet-and-greet session.
It's an even that happens every year when the Cowboys arrive for training camp, and one of the most rewarding things the football club does all year.
It is, in part, the Cowboys' way of saying thanks for allowing the chartered plane to land at the naval base. The air station is only nine miles away from the training camp headquarters in Oxnard.
This annual event is now something the team and the base residents look forward to every year.
"It's an amazing feeling, just putting smiles on their faces, even though they do so much more for our country than we could ever do," said Cowboys safety Barry Church. "Seeing that they're just excited to see us as we are them is an amazing feeling."
"We definitely appreciate and support everything they do. We wouldn't be able to play football if it wasn't for them," said wide receiver Cole Beasley. "They also let us land here, which is a lot closer, so the least we can do is come in and show them some love."
