Class of 2010 Rankings: Wide Receivers

With the Top 4 WRs settled in the Class of 2010, with Bud Sasser and John Harris and Mike Davis and Darius White, it's time to see those who just barely missed out on those Top 4 spots. But make no mistake, to be in the Top 10 in DFW is nothing to sneeze at.

So, in no particular order, here are the "rest of the best".

Ross Apo, Arlington Oak Ridge - After transferring to the TAPPS world after playing at Euless Trinity as a sophomore, Apo put up some hefty numbers as a junior and is expected to improve on them next season. He put up 764 yards and 11 touchdowns for Oak Ridge using his 4.6 40 and 37-inch vertical. He has offers from BYU, Nebraska and Tulsa.

Darius Terrell, DeSoto - He only had 577 yards and six TDs last year, but this guy is another athletic freak of nature. He somehow gets his 6 foot 3, 208-pound frame 40 yards in 4.5 seconds and is also quite the leaper. He's another of Mack Brown's early coup of 2010 recruits as he orally committed to Texas recently, despite having offers from Texas Tech, Kansas, LSU, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Not a bad list there, but in this part of the world, it doesn't get much better than an offer from Mack Brown. And no, I'm not a Texas grad -- far from it, actually.

Eddie Johnson, Midlothian - This guy is another athletic phenom at 6 foot 3, 194 pounds, but plays for a pretty mediocre team. He only put up 613 yards and three scores last season, but will look to improve on those next year. He hasn't received many major big-time offers yet, as SMU, Baylor and Arizona have all given offers, but he has interest from Oklahoma, Texas, Notre Dame and Tennessee.

Kyle Guinyard, Ennis - One of the top statistical receivers in the area last season, Guinyard has one offer and one offer only -- from Texas Tech, who's had some recent success with head coach Sam Harrell's products at Ennis, such as his son, Graham. Guinyard had 1,751 yards on an incredible 110 catches to go with 20 touchdowns last season. Playing in Ennis' high-flying passing attack and only being 6 foot 1, 180 pounds might be slowing Guinyard's offers, but he's bound to get some more with a 2009 season close to what he had last year.
