Cheerleader Tryout Fee Rescinded at Dallas High School

Fee found to violate state rules

Dallas' W.T. White High School is dropping a plan to charge students trying out for the cheerleading squad.

The school had planned to charge $5 to each participant, The Dallas Morning News reported.

The fee was going to pay judges but a district spokesperson said the fee was removed because it violated state rules.

Refunds were issued to any student who had already paid the fee.
