Brahmas Pour On the Goals Against Arizona

The Texas Brahmas scored eight goals Saturday night, something the franchise has been unable to do since 2003.  With the strong offensive work, Texas managed to defeat Arizona 8-3, taking the weeklong series.

Texas stunned Sundog goaltender Marco Emond in the first with four unanswered goals.  Jordan Cameron, coming off of a two point (1 G, 1 A) effort from the night before scored the Brahmas first goal unassisted.  Forward Scott Sheppard followed up with a pair of goals, his team leading 12th and 13th of the season.  Forty-eight seconds later, Matt Quinn gave Texas the 4-0 lead, which they held going into the first intermission.

Hanson followed up the first period with his first goal of the year at 2:25 on the powerplay in the second.  It was not until late in the second when the Sundogs were able to slip a shot by Brahmas netminder David Cacciola.

Despite Arizona's late efforts, Texas with two additional goals from Marc Belanger and Eric Lundberg were able to dominate the remainder of the game, winning 8-3.  Sundogs leading point man, Joel Irving, scored all three goals for Arizona.

The Brahmas have one remaining game on the road in their longest road trip of the season, facing off against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs Tuesday evening at 7:05 PM.  Texas returns home Friday to play Rio Grande Valley at the NYTEX Sports Centre for a Southeast divisional game set for 7:05 PM.  On Saturday the Brahmas will look to play the Oklahoma Blazers for a 7:05 PM faceoff.  For ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423.
