Baylor Eyeing First 3-0 Start Since 2005

Robert Griffin III and the 17th-ranked Baylor Bears will try sweeping their non-conference schedule when they play host to Rice on Saturday night.

The Bears are looking for their first 3-0 start since 2005. This is their third straight week in the Top 25, which is already their longest stay since 1991.

Rice is 1-1 and coming off the thrill of beating Purdue to end a stretch of 22 straight losses against teams from BCS conferences, a drought dating to 2001. The Owls were off last weekend, giving them more time to study Baylor.

Griffin leads the nation in passing efficiency and is third in total offense. Rice coach David Bailiff calls him one of the most exciting players he has ever seen.
