Baylor Expects Full Recovery for Russell After Neck Surgery

Baylor coach Art Briles says quarterback Seth Russell is expected to make a full recovery after season-ending neck surgery.

Briles said Monday that Russell is out of the hospital and comfortable after Friday's procedure to repair damage to his cervical vertebra.

Russell fractured a bone in his neck late in a 45-27 win over Iowa State on Oct. 24.

Over the weekend, Russell wrote on his social media accounts that his prayers were answered and surgery couldn't have gone any better.

The post included a picture of the junior quarterback in his hospital bed wearing a neck brace and flashing the school's "Bear Claw" hand signal.
