Once again, using a list compiled by Greg Riddle of The Dallas Morning News and recruiting Web site Rivals.com's Barton Simmons, I've tweaked their list a bit in revealing the top defensive linemen in the Class of 2010 who reside in the Metroplex.
After Michael Daniels, Jackson Richards and David Johnson were revealed yesterday, it's time to take a look at the third- and fourth-best run stuffers and pass rushers around. The top two will be revealed on Monday.
4. Daniel Noble, Flower Mound Marcus HS - Defensive tackles at Oklahoma have had a pretty good history of being household names, whether it be for good or bad, and Noble's set to join the likes of fellow DFW natives DeMarcus Granger (Dallas Kimball) and Dusty Dvoracek (Lake Dallas) as dominant stop-gaps in the middle of Oklahoma's tough defense. The Marcus junior, who's 6 foot 4 inches and weighs in at 275 pounds has everything you'd want out of a dominant tackle, including 4.8 speed in the 40-yard dash, which is plenty fast for a tackle. Listed at No. 212 in the Rivals 250, which is the Top 250 players in the country, regardless of position, in the Class of 2010. Bob Stoops, Jackie Shipp & Co. must have liked what they saw early on from Noble, as he was the Sooners' first verbal commitment of the 2010 class.
3. Reggie Wilson, Haltom HS - By now, Wilson's story is a familiar one of a kid who came to the United States with a dream and has finally seen it come to fruition by landing a verbal commitment to the University of Texas. The 6 foot 4 inch, 240-pound weakside defensive end has pass-rushing specialist written all over him. Last year for Haltom, he racked up 88 tackles and nine sacks, and as a sophomore he had 80 and six. He's the 20th-ranked player in the Rivals 100, which is the Top 100 players in the country, regardless of position, in the Class of 2010. Wilson had every big-time offer there is to get -- 14 in all -- from the likes of Texas, Oklahoma, and the pinnacle of high school football offers, USC.
