Three Texas State football players have been kicked off the team.
Coach Everett Withers on Tuesday announced the dismissal of Demun Mercer, Justin Gamble and Brice Gunter.
Withers says the players broke "team core values" and failed to meet expectations in other areas. He did not elaborate. The three players were no longer listed Tuesday on the Bobcats spring roster.
Withers also announced that redshirt freshman Kerry Walker Jr. of Killeen quit the team last weekend. The coach did not provide further details on Walker.
