Gov. Greg Abbott was in Dallas Thursday, at Ruibal’s Plants of Texas. He held a roundtable with small business owners, to hear about how Texas can help provide them with support.
“I got some keen input from some of the people across the table about some additional things we can work on,” said Abbott.
He said they are discussing civil liability protections for businesses that were open during the pandemic. Abbott also said he heard from the business owners that they face a lot of regulations. He said the state wants to reduce regulations as much as possible.
The latest news from around North Texas.
Gov. Abbott took some questions from reporters about the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccinations.
“You look at the number of vaccines, the past seven days, Texas has vaccinated far more people than in any other seven day time period. We are averaging well over 100,000 vaccinations per day,” said Abbott.
Governor Abbott said those numbers will continue to increase because of the addition of three mass vaccination sites, two of which are in North Texas. He also expected a vaccine from Johnson and Johnson to be approved before the end of this month.
