State officials say some 800,000 Texans have registered to vote since March, pumping the total number to 13.5 million.
Texas Secretary of State Hope Andrade said Tuesday that the number of registered voters rose from 12.7 million in March, fueling record participation in early voting.
She said more than 2 million Texans had cast a ballot during the first eight days of early voting. Friday is the last day to vote early ahead of the Nov. 4 general election.
