Trump Retweets News Report Based on Leaked Information, Anonymous Sources

The president has repeatedly decried the practice of reporting leaks from anonymous sources when it's damaging to his White House

President Donald Trump retweeted a Fox News article Tuesday that cited anonymous sources discussing leaked classified information, a reporting practice that he's decried repeatedly, NBC News reported.

The Fox News report, which was about U.S. spy satellites detecting North Korean missile movements, included quotations from officials who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive information.

Trump has previously said that the anonymous sources cited by some news organizations don't exist and even proposed that the use of these sources be barred.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats announced Friday increased efforts against these kinds of leaks Friday, which Sessions said were undermining "the ability of our government to protect this country."
