Abbott, Davis Make Final Stops Before Election Day

Republican Greg Abbott and Democrat Wendy Davis are spending the final day before Election Day touring Texas while courting supporters.

In his last lap, Abbott is telling his supporters he needs "every last vote" to become governor despite widespread predictions that he'll coast to victory.

The Texas attorney general Monday fired up supporters at a barbecue smokehouse in Dallas on the eve a major shakeup to state government. No incumbents are on Tuesday's ballot for any of the major statewide offices in Texas.

But the GOP is expected to preserve two decades of political dominance in Texas and sweep races from governor down to land commissioner.

Democrat Wendy Davis began the last swing in her high-profile campaign Monday by telling supporters in Austin not to count her out.

Davis kicked-off three community block walks in Austin, San Antonio and Houston as supporters gear up to get out the vote at over 900 neighborhood events across the state on Tuesday.

Davis' campaign said she will visit volunteers' homes and a campaign field office, where volunteers will be going door-to-door in their neighborhoods to ensure their community turns out on Nov. 4.

Davis has trailed by double-digits since she got in the race last year.
