Rick Perry ‘Story' Told in Animation, Humor

Short film illustrates Perry’s career, politics

Rick Perry might look the part.

In fact, if memory serves, one woman in Iowa was quoted not long ago as saying he has “presidential hair,” and boy, there’s a strong endorsement of his qualifications.

Some animators in Taiwan, though, see more than Perry’s hair. A lot more, and they put it in a kind of Rick Perry 101 short video for the uninitiated (English version here).

They cover his birth, his kindergarten courtship, his conversion — political not religious — his winning the governor’s mansion, the burning of said mansion, job creation in the form of payola for supporters, the attempt at mandatory HPV vaccinations — hmm, wonder where he got that dashing little Merck sign — the $5 tax on gentlemen’s club patrons, his attempts to pray away the drought, God’s reply, and his penchant for gunplay.

What, no coyotes? No sonograms?

All in all, a fairly amusing little video no matter which side the political stump one might support. Expect to see it play the cinematic art houses soon.

The narration is in Taiwanese — Chinese? — but it has subtitles.
