Number of Dems Challenging Pete Sessions Grows in District 32

The number of Democrats hoping to challenge longtime District 32 Representative Pete Sessions is growing.

Colin Allred has filed his paperwork to run, joining Ed Meier, George Rodriguez, Lillian Salerno, and Ron Marshall in the March primary.

Former WFAA-TV reporter Brett Shipp is expected to announce his plans to run sometime Thursday.

On the Republican side, Sessions, who has held the seat since 2003, has filed for re-election.

The Texas primaries will be held March 6, 2018; runoffs, if necessary, would be May 22. The general election is scheduled for Nov. 6, 2018. See other key 2018 elections dates here.
