The last day to register to vote was Monday and many Americans will vote for the first time this November.
Bobbie Lusk said issues like health care and the economy have peaked interest in this year's presidential election in addition to the charismatic Sen. Barack Obama and war hero Sen. John McCain.
Richard Gerhard wanted to be sure he could take part in the political process and showed up to check on his registration status and to register if necessary.
Gerhard said he filled out the registration form again just to be on the safe side.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
