Biden Gushes Over Ukraine's “Beautiful Women”

Veep blurts country has "the most beautiful women in the world"

Too bad Joe Biden's latest gaffe wasn't lost in translation.

Veep Biden met with Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko in Kiev yesterday and gave a new meaning to foreign relations when he lavished praise on the women of the country -- telling the leader "you have so many beautiful women" here.

"I cannot believe that a Frenchman visiting Kiev went back home and told his colleagues he discovered something and didn't say he discovered the most beautiful women in the world. That's my observation," he told the president through a translator.

"It's certain you have so many beautiful women."

It's not the first time gaffe machine, notorious for having foot-and-mouth disease, went off script.

Biden recently  on national TV after Obama asked the nation to remain calm in the wake of the swine flu outbreak -- urging his family to stay off public transportation.

"I would tell members of my family, and I have, I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places right now," Biden told NBC's "Today" show.

Biden's gaffes have helped to highlight the contrasting styles and slight disconnect between the vice president and Obama in the past. When Obama said the government should offer bailout money to ailing insurance company last fall, his then-running mate Biden spoke out against the idea.

"The federal government should not bail out AIG," Biden said in Sept. 2008.

Obama responded saying, "I think Joe should have waited" before weighing in.

Even when Biden attempted to compliment the commander in chief ahead of his historic presidential run, the former senator managed to make off-color remarks.

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, I mean, that's a storybook, man," he said in January 2007.
