The spokesman for Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings has resigned to run for City Council.
Sam Merten, after a year on the job, ended on Friday his tenure in the mayor’s office. The former Dallas Observer reporter confirmed on Monday that he will mount a political bid next year in District 9, where he recently moved after having lived there in the past.
