Dallas County Commissioners have a lot to consider Tuesday concerning proposed changes to Parkland Memorial Hospital that will deeply impact the wallets of taxpayers.
Everything from multi-million-dollar construction projects to merit-based pay raises is on the table during the meeting.
Tuesday morning commissioners will once again take up the issue of a multi-million-dollar pedestrian bridge over Harry Hines, a controversial project that was not well-received when it was proposed in the past.
The project is controversial, in part, because so many other projects at the hospital have gone well over budget recently.
Still, several speakers took the podium and said despite those well-publicized controversies and budgetary mismanagement, Parkland remains an institution for premium Dallas healthcare.
Commissioners will also decide if they should expand Parkland's Board. Some commissioners said they're concerned by a general lack of diversity at the hospital's senior levels.
County Commissioners will also get an update on West Nile virus and vote on a contract to spray for mosquitos in the city of Coppell.
