Republican Congressman Michael Burgess announced Wednesday he will run for Chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee.
"Our Republican ship needs righting and the House Republican Policy Committee can help chart a fresh course....The GOP has always been a party of ideas. It's time we recapture that designation...." Burgess said.
The Lewisville Republican won a fourth team in the US House of Representatives taking 60% of the vote.
Congressman Burgess currently serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
