A Cup of Joe on a State Rep

State Rep. Vicki Truitt (R-Keller), who started brewing up a way to meet and greet voters eight years ago, has announced her annual District 98 Coffee Tour.

“I’d like to hear what’s on your mind, and the coffee’s on me,” Truitt said.

A popular breakfast spot in each city of District 98 is the site of one-on-one interaction between Truitt and the people she serves.

Here what Truitt said about pressing palms with caffeinated constituents in a press release:

“I believe it is important for me to reach out to the people I represent, rather than making them come to me,” said Truitt. “Of course, we are always available in the district office in Southlake, or in the capitol office in Austin to listen, but the Coffee Tour makes a statement about wanting to make myself easily available to constituents in a casual, comfortable atmosphere.”

The annual District 98 Coffee Tour is an opportunity for the people of Grapevine, Colleyville, Southlake, Keller, Westlake, the Tarrant County portion of Trophy Club and a large part of far north Fort Worth, to share concerns, ask questions, or provide suggestions for the next legislative session while Truitt listens.

Truitt will begin her tour later this week in the Fort Worth area on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Dunn Bros. Coffee (5040 N. Tarrant Parkway, Suite 136). The tour will continue through each city within the district on the following dates and at locations shown below from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Feb. 12 in Keller at Snooty Pig Café
Feb. 19 in Southlake at Corner Bakery
Feb. 26 in Colleyville upstairs at Market Street
