Oil Slick, “Yellow Object” Not From Missing Jet

The oil slick found in waters between Malaysia and Vietnam was determined not to be from an aircraft, the top investigator into the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 said Monday. The investigator also said that after reviewing video footage from check-in to departure he was confident “all security protocols” were followed. Two men who boarded the flight with stolen passports were not of Asian appearance, said Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, the head of the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation. Authorities still have not found any wreckage, nearly three days after the Boeing 777 vanished with 239 people on board. A floating "yellow object" that authorities believed could be a life raft from the jet turned out to be a “moss-covered cap of a cable reel."
