U.N. Members Reach Climate Agreement in Peru

Negotiators reached an agreement on climate policy after marathon U.N. talks in Peru, setting the stage for a global climate pact in Paris next year. "As a text it's not perfect, but it includes the positions of the parties," said Peru's environment minister, who introduced the eleventh-hour draft that was approved. The agreement in Lima came just hours after a bloc of developing countries rejected an initial draft of the agreement; they said more developed nations were sidestepping their responsibilities to fight global warming and pay for its impacts.
