Front-Row Faces at the Spring 2011 Shows

Considering the star-studded turnout each season, celebrity-spotting should be the official pastime of Fashion Week. Here's who we spied in the front rows this time around.

Considering the star-studded turnout each season, celebrity-spotting should be the official pastime of Fashion Week. Julianne Moore—who also played model in Tom Ford's insiders-only show this season— and Kerry Washington added some heavy star power to the front row at Calvin Klein, but it was Katie Holmes' presence that had audience members tweeting up a storm.
Between his rhinestone-encrusted bottom teeth and his bright fuchsia sports jacket, Kanye West blazed a trail everywhere he went, from Jeremy Scott (seen here with fellow attendee Kelly Osbourne), to Tory Burch, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Rodarte—and that was just a single day.

Actress and former ANTM finalist Yaya DaCosta took in Isaac Mizrahi's show next to figure-skater Johnny Weir. Weir was perhaps taking a few dressing cues from Kanye West who donned a similarly bright pink sports jacket at several shows the day before—the rhinestone-encrusted fur stole is entirely his own, though.

Call it "Keeping Up With the Fashions." Kim and Kourtney Kardashian (and Kourtney's baby's daddy Scott Disick) attended the Jill Stuart show looking surprisingly prim.

Jessica Simpson joined Nina Garcia, Michael Kors, and Heidi Klum as a guest judge for the runway final of Project Runway. The singer-turned-celebrity-designer offered up her own Spring 2011 collection in a showroom presentation a few days earlier—we'll have to wait for the episode to air to see if that made her a more empathetic judge.

Speaking of Project Runway, Christian Siriano, undoubtedly the show's most successful winner, presented his collection of super-glam frocks before a front row that included Maggie Grace, Alan Cumming, Sia, Katrina Bowden and Leigh Lezark.

No, it wasn't former group-member Victoria Beckam's show that Scary Spice Melanie Brown attended, looking oh so fierce in leopard, but rather Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B.

Serena Williams was a major player at the shows this year—most often seated besides Anna Wintour and other members of Vogue's power matrix (which usually means there's a cover story in the making). We spotted her at Vera Wang, Rodarte, Michael Kors, and LaQuan Smith, for which she modeled the young designer's final look, an over-the-top gold brocade ensemble.

Rachel Zoe doesn't just go to the shows—Prabal Gurung, Rodarte, Marchesa, Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs, to name a few—because she dies for fashion. She does it because it's her job. Lit-trally.

Both Jessica Szohr and Leigh Lezark were both major front row fixtures at the shows this season. Here they teamed up for Herve Leger by Max Azria.

To match Jason Wu's gorgeous, picture-perfect spring looks: a gorgeous, picture-perfect front row: Katie Cassidy, Diane Kruger, and Elisa Sednaoui.

To celebrate his 25th anniversary, Tommy Hilfiger welcomed a stellar celebrity turnout: Jennifer Lopez, Bradley Cooper, Christina Hendricks, and Neil Patrick Harris (seen here) were also joined by Olivia Palermo, Ed Westwick, Rebecca Romijn, Jason Lewis, and Lenny Kravitz.

At Proenza Schouler, Leighton Meester and Rashida Jones both had the same notion to pull out their best Clueless-inspired ensembles.
Susan Sarandon is one of the last celebrities we'd expect to see bringing a pooch to Fashion Week (seen here at Donna Karan), but then again the ping-pong playing actress has been throwing a lot of curve balls lately.

Alexa Chung took some time off from promoting her newly-launched Alexa Chung for Madewell collection to check out Marc Jacobs (here), as well as 3.1 Phillip Lim.

A self-proclaimed longtime fan of Rodarte, Elijah Wood came out to support the sisters Mulleavy alongside Sonic Youth members Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore. As the head of his own record label, Simian Records, we imagine Wood probably talked a bit of shop with the duo.

Nestled in between esteemed members of the Vogue team here at Oscar de la Renta, Sarah Jessica Parker also held court at Narcisco Rodriguez and Diane von Furstenberg.
