U.S. Military Boosts Security at Europe Bases

U.S. military bases across Europe have boosted security measures in and around military facilities since the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris that left 17 dead earlier this month, the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) in Brussels said on Tuesday. A senior U.S. military official told NBC News that there are 4,000 to 5,000 extremists "trained in Iraq or Syria who have returned to Europe" and may pose a potential threat to American service members and their families. EUCOM did not specify the measures, but the Stars and Stripes newspaper said they could include the inspecting of cars, bag checks and patrols.
