Parties Plan Health Care Ruling Response

House Republicans plan to force a vote to repeal the Obama administration's health care law if the Supreme Court doesn't strike it down, The New York Times reported. With the Supreme Court slated to rule potentially as early as next week, Democratic legislators and top White House officials are also drawing up a political strategy designed to counter House Republicans' repeal efforts. Lawmakers, political strategists and advocates on both sides of the issue anticipate three contingencies: the court upholds the law, the court invalidates the insurance-purchasing mandate but preserves most of the law, or the court strikes down the law—which many inside and outside the White House call Obama's signature domestic achievement.
