Obama Signs Farm Bill Into Law

President Barack Obama on Friday signed a massive farm bill into law, NBC News reported. The legislation emerged after a drawn-out and contentious debate over the its price tag and the amount to be spent on food assistance programs. The final bill cuts about $8.6 billion in food stamps over the next decade. Obama signed the bill at Michigan State University, which has a robust farming program, and invited as many as 50 lawmakers to attend Friday's event.
