Where in the world is Moammar Khaddafy? In a new audio recording aired Thursday on a loyalist television channel, the ousted Libyan leader denied rumors that he fled to neighboring Niger, vowing, “never to leave the land of his ancestors.” He dismissed the reports as “psychological warfare and lies,” Al Jazeera reports. Khaddafy also called the rebels who toppled him “a bunch of mercenaries, thugs, and traitors,” The Associated Press reports. On Wednesday, conflicting rumors from Tripoli’s new military council said the leader was surrounded, adding, “It is only a matter of time until he is captured or killed.”
