James Murdoch to Step Down as BSkyB Chairman

In the latest blow to Rupert Murdoch's media empire, his son James Murdoch will step down as BSkyB chairman, the U.K. pay-TV company confirmed Tuesday. Rupert Murdoch's one time heir apparent, under fire for his handling of News Corp’s phone-hacking scandal, last month resigned as chairman of News International, which publishes the Sun and the Times in the U.K. News Corp's phone-hacking scandal earlier scuttled the company's planned takeover of BSkyB. James Murdoch will remain a BSkyB board member, the company said.
